Welcome to Satyam Yoga’s Oil of the Month! From now on, I will introduce an oil that I use in my daily life and share the benefits with you. This time lavender.
The light and relaxing aroma of lavender oil has a myriad of benefits. It is most well known for its helping relax the mind, calm the nervous tension and relieve sleeplessness. Lavender may also help relieve mild pain, reduce headache duration and ease digestive discomfort.
Discover how lavender enhances your life and yoga practice with a ritual that nurtures body, mind, and soul.
Practice: Lavender Savasana Ritual
Elevate your yoga with lavender’s calming essence. Before we do savasana in one of our next yoga classes, place 1 drop of doTERRA lavender oil on your temples. As you relax in Savasana, inhale deeply, take in the relaxing aroma and with every exhale let all the tension melt.
Cautions: Keep out of reach of children. Possible skin sensitivity. If you are pregnant, nursing or under a doctor's care consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears and sensitive areas.
Sustainability: Eco-Conscious Calm
Lavender is sustainably sourced by doTERRA, supporting ethical farming. Use it to replace synthetic air fresheners—add 2–3 drops to a diffuser for a sustainable and healthy solution. If you are interested in the oils and why I chose to use doTERRA, let me know. There are many different brands out there that sell essential oils, but the right quality is important to keep you and your family safe. doTERRA provides pure, high quality essential oils and also supports social communities in needs through their NGO. So this is why I decided to use them at home.
Exploration: Reflect & Connect
After your ritual, journal: How do you feel? Did you feel a calming effect of the oil? Share your thoughts with us or keep them as a soulful anchor.
